The national team’s tournament returns with a prize of 4 million dollars

The global WESG tournament is back! This year, spectators are expected even more disciplines and games, and the entire gaming community will get another chance to look at the tournament teams of different countries.

 

Unlike other tournaments, only teams composed of representatives of one country can participate in WESG . In addition, in the course of the championship you can follow the development of e-sports – organizers allocate slots to those regions that usually remain in the shadows.

According to the official announcement, the total prize fund of the final will be  $ 3,921,400 , of which  $ 1,500,000will be received by players in CS: GO and the same number in Dota 2 . Unlike the first tournament, this time we will see women’s competitions along with men’s. Full list of disciplines:

  • Dota 2
  • Counter-Strike: Global Offensive
  • Hearthstone
  • StarCraft II
  • Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (among women)
  • Hearthstone  (among women)

The qualifiers, like last year, will be held in two stages. First, in some countries, including in Russia and Ukraine, there will be national qualifiers. In accordance with the allocated quotas, the teams will be eligible to compete in the regional finals (for us this is European finals with an additional prize fund of  $ 279,800 .

Date of national qualifying for Dota 2:

  • Russia – October 19-20
  • South of the CIS – October 20-21
  • Ukraine – October 21-22
  • Eastern Europe – 24-25 October
  • Northern Europe – October 25-26

The top 20 teams from different parts of the Old World will have the chance to appear on the LAN Finals, which will be held from November 22 to 26. All participants will be paid for flights and accommodation.

The 12 best teams in the European finals in each of the disciplines (in women’s – 3) will receive a cash award (total prize –  $ 279,800 ) and a ticket to the global LAN-final, which is scheduled for March 2018.

Recall that last year Russia at the tournament in China introduced  Comanche and  F5 , together with  Team Ukraine and   NeRusb, the guys did not leave the band. The victory was won by   TnC .
